SPEED TUNERZ

CARS,DRIFTING, AND PERFORMANCE

DRIFTING:

Drifting is a very unique style of driving, and there are many forms of it. But whatever style you use they all have a common factor that makes it a drift. That is to throw the car into a voluntary sliding motion for the majority of the turn. Of course, different elements lead to different directions of sliding. these elements include such: Type of layout (FR,FF,4WD), the speed at which you enter also impinges on the how well you execute a drift. There are many styles, but there are some very basic ones you have to master in order to advance to the next level.

Drift angles change depending on which wheels are pushing or pulling the car. simply stated an FR drift, would differ from an FF drift, and bothe types would differ from a 4WD drift.

For those who don't know

FR: means Front Engine Rear-Wheel Drive (the back wheels are pushing the car)

FF: means Front Engine Front-Wheel drive(the front wheels are pulling the car)

4WD: All-Wheel Drive(all wheels are moving the car) Usually Front Enginge.

Uphill and Downhill:

Downhill drifts and Uphill drifts differ. Downhill Drift, for a basic drift you should E.brake coming into the  turn, then steer into the corner to induce oversteer, once oversteer commences throttle out of the corner. If necessary, counter-steer to exit the corner. Uphill Drift, this can be a bit triky, you should Heel Toe to set an even blend of RPM on the Downshift. turn in and apply throttle. If necessary, counter-steer to exit the corner

Apex Drifting:

Drift Angle for Late Apex, E. Brake on the outside of the corner, Turn in late to obtain the correct angle, then turn into the Apex point. 90 Degree Cornering, this is a little bit easier, handbrake into the corner then turn at a medium drift angle, counter steer to get the correct apex point.

S-Cornering:

S-Corner, Set up is KEY for this style of Drifting, begin by drifting into the first corner, but always remember the exit of the second part of the corner is most critical. Nearing the end of the first corner counter-drift into the second, and also to set up for the correct Apex point.
